About

Centre Values

Our aim is simple: We want you to have a stress free and enjoyable trip and we work with you every step of the way to achieve this.  We offer affordable, hostel style accommodation ….. with that little bit extra as you will be supported from enquiry to departure. We provide you with the space to get away from the hustle and bustle to have a positive experience whilst having fun and learning in safe, comfortable surroundings to build memories for the future – whatever your age.  See our Gallery here.

Cudham Environmental Activities Centre is owned and managed by Woodcraft Folk with a small, helpful and friendly staff team, supported by a body of dedicated volunteers who help maintain all aspects of the centre.

Woodcraft Folk is an educational movement for children and young people, designed to develop self-confidence and activity in society. We run hundreds of grassroots education groups in towns and cities across the UK where young people of all ages meet to play games, make friends and learn about big ideas from social justice to climate change through co-operative activities. For more information about the organisation, please click on the logo in the footer.

Cudham is the perfect site & location for your trip

We welcome groups ranging in age from pre-school to adult work residential trips, training facilities, away days and even family gatherings. We know you will have a positive experience and want to return.

Our dorms sleep 44, and our main hall has an amazing inglenook fireplace, cosy corner with soft seating plus chairs and tables for activities/indoor dining.

Our lovely cabin, Dixon Lodge, provides a separate space to run activities, hold private meetings, have a creche or watch the badgers at night.  It is your space to use how you wish – we promise you’ll love it.  There is also a spacious green area suitable for group activities and camping.

This area of Kent, known for its diverse landscapes and countryside panoramas, is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The centre is open throughout the year and offers people of all ages the opportunity to mix education and fun in a rural setting.

With the current focus on the value of learning outcomes from educational visits – including study support and work-related learning, this has resulted in an increased need to create and provide opportunities for young people to leave the classroom and venture further afield.  We provide that setting for your exclusive use – there are no other groups on site during your visit.

Our users include primary, junior, senior schools, international students and like-minded charities during the week, and youth groups (primarily Woodcraft Folk) at the weekends.  Home Education and smaller groups are also welcome and we can provide excellent activities for you too.  We work with you to ensure your trip is a success, offering stress free day visits and residential trips in a beautiful setting.  Please see Downloads section here for suggested activities and further information.

Our spacious and well-equipped kitchen lends itself to groups self-catering – though if this is not practical for your group, please contact us and we will be happy to advise you on options and costs.
